Prof. ALİ VOLKAN ERDEMİR

Biography

エルデミール教授は、2007年に京都大学、人間・環境学研究科で修士課程及び博士課程を修了し、2008年からエルジェス大学日本語日本文学科に所属している。著書には『日本におけるトルコイメージの形成』（2014年）、『在留外国人ピエール・ロティ』（2018年）、児童書『マル子の旅』（2019年）、小説『山の夢』（2022年）などがある。日本文学の紹介を積極的におこなっており、村上春樹を始め、大江健三郎、三島由紀夫、今村夏子、川上未映子らの作品をトルコ語に翻訳した。また、昔話を選定、翻訳し、『最も好きな日本昔話』として出版した（2022年）。松尾芭蕉、種田山頭火の俳句の翻訳及び自作の俳句を文芸誌に発表してもいる。2020年、その功績に対し、日本国政府より外務大臣賞が授与された。

Prof. Dr. Ali Volkan Erdemir completed his master's and doctoral studies at Kyoto University, Graduate School of Human and Environmental Studies in 2007 and has been a member of the Department of Japanese Language and Literature at Erciyes University since 2008. His publications include "The Formation of the Turkish Image in Japan - 1890-1914" (2014), "Pierre Loti, An Inside Outsider" (2018), the children's book "Maruko's Journey" (2019), and the novel "Dream of the Mountain" (2022). He has been actively introducing Japanese literature and has translated into Turkish the works of Haruki Murakami, Kenzaburo Oe, Yukio Mishima, Natsuko Imamura, and Mieko Kawakami. He also selected and translated folktales and published them as "My Most Favorite Japanese Folktales" (2022). In 2020, the Japanese government awarded him the Foreign Minister’s Commendations for his achievements.
