Members of the Spoken and Written Academic Discourse Analysis (SWADA) Research Group are set to present their cutting-edge research at the 6th International English for Specific Purposes (ESP) Conference in November 2024.

• Akbaş, Kırmızı & Jiang will present a cross-disciplinary analysis on self-mentions in research articles.
• Akbaş, Yiğitoğlu & Bal-Gezeğin will explore how reviewers shift from critique to praise during review rounds.
• Akbaş & Özer will validate the Veterinary Medicine Academic Word List (VMAWL) across multiple corpora.
• Elbaşı & Akbaş will analyze the lexicon in dentistry academic writing from a corpus linguistics perspective.
