Özet

Textile fibers can be colored with different synthetic dyes but also some natural sources can be used in coloration of them as well. These old coloration methods have gained interest again because of some benefits of using natural sources. Here in this study the barberry shrub roots were used in coloration of the wool fabrics according to two different mordanting methods. This herbal source was firstly grinded and then applied to wool fabrics with/without different mordanting agents. Then the samples were examined in terms of the colors and fastnesses. From the study, the roots of barberry shrub were detected as a natural alternative for the wool coloration.
