Investigation of the relationship between sexual shame and self-schema in women with polycystic ovary

Özet
PCOS is a disease characterized by metabolic and cosmetic problems, it is now clear that the disease causes psychological and reproductive/sexual problems. The study included 195 women diagnosed with PCOS who were literate, 18 years of age or older, had a spouse/sexual partner, were place, time, and situation oriented, volunteered to participate in the study. It was found that there was a high level of positive correlation between the total scale and sub-dimension scores of the Sexual Self-Consciousness Scale (p <= 0.001). It was determined that there was a high level of positive correlation between the total scale and sub-dimension scores of the Sexual Self Schema Scale of women with polycystic ovary (p <= 0.001). There was a low positive correlation between Sexual Self-Consciousness Scale Sexual Self-Focus and Sexual Self Schema Scale Loving/Compassionate subscale and total scale scores (p = 0.008, p = 0.024).
