The word "talfiq," whereof the basic meaning is to combine and add, despite having different meaning in Usul al-fiqh and furu' al-fiqh, has the technical use in the hadith. Although talfiq used in the sense of combining the various ahadith on the same subject and narrating them as a single hadith, it means combining the sanad (chain of narrators) and the texts of a hadith has been narrated with different sanad and texts. As it is understood from the descriptions, talfiq has the dimensions relating with both sanad and text.
