NURSE EDUCATOR, 2025 (SCI-Expanded, SSCI, Scopus)
Background:Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) tools are also necessitating a change in nursing education.Aim:This study evaluated the effect of AI-supported case analysis methods on nursing students' clinical competencies.Method:This study employed a mixed-methods design. Students were randomly assigned to the traditional teaching group (TTG), case study group (CAG), and AI group (AIG). An information Form, Knowledge Test, Mentimeter, Wayground, and Interview Form were used. The AI case presentation was prepared using ChatGPT, Sora, and the Invideo AI program. Results:The total knowledge test scores in the AIG, students' ability to determine nursing diagnoses, and their case management performance were found to be significantly higher than in the other groups. The qualitative findings support the quantitative findings.Conclusion:AI-supported case analysis increased knowledge, nursing diagnosis skills, and case management performance. AI tools can be integrated into the nursing curriculum.
