Abstract

The title compound (C10H10O2Br2) crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group P2(1)2(1)2(1) with a 5.0319(2)Angstrom, b = 13.5282(5)Angstrom, c = 15.6289(6)Angstrom, V = 1063.90(1)Angstrom(3), Z = 4, D = 2.01 g/cm(3) at T = 293(2)K. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by full-matrix least-squares procedures to final R = 0.078 and wR = 0.140 using 1212 observed reflections with [I greater than or equal to 2sigma(I)]. The title compound as a whole is not planar. The crystal structure is stabilized by hydrogen contacts and weak van der Waals interactions.
