Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of running speed on ultrasound efficiency and so its effects onto the fabric's as hydrophility degree, breaking strength, whiteness and desizing degree. For this purpose, pretreatment processes (enzymatic desizing and water treatment) were conducted in two different running speeds (1 m/h and 2.5 m/h) by the aid of ultrasound. At the en of the experiment it was noticed that ultrasound had a significant effect onto the hydrophility degree. However, desizing and hydrophility degree decreased when running speed increased from 1 m/h to 2.5 m/h during ultrasonic treatments. Consequently, this study throws fresh light on one,of the design parameters of industrial size ultrasonic bath, running speed of fabric.
