Oxygen
feeding is crucial for aquaculture as it profoundly affects fish growth,
health, and population density. This work aims to develop a novel oxygen
generator combined with water electrolysis and fuel cell power generation for
aquaculture. The proposed system uses the water splitting technique to produce
the required oxygen by operating a proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer.
Hydrogen produced along with oxygen is utilized as fuel to operate the fuel
cell stacks for power generation. The energy and exergy efficiencies of the
solar-driven system are calculated to be 14.1% and 15,3%, respectively. They
are 30.3% and 29.2% for the wind-driven system. When off-peak electricity is
used as an energy source, they are calculated to be both 60.5%.
