Özet

The theory of speech acts that is the basis of our study moves from the premise that saying something is do something. In order that performance refers to the action and speech raefers to the language in the speech acts concept, with a general define speech acts can be expressed as a structure which contains acts that need language for having been came true, and when certain conditions are provided saying something means to do something. At this point, in our every day speech it is wanted to be showed that a lot of sentences which we do not have any statement but have performance, give promise, ask a favour etc are not meaningless at all. This study, with literature review for this issue has been making use of primary and secondary sources.
