Amaç: Amelogenesis Imperfecta (AI), süt ve daimi dişlerde
mine kusurlarını içeren X'e bağlı kalıtsal bir hastalıktır. Mine matriks

Objective: Amelogenesis Imperfecta (AI) is an X-linked
inherited disease involving enamel defects in primary and permanent
teeth. It is caused by problems in the genes encoding enamel matrix proteins.
AI causes many problems in children, including sensitivity and
aesthetics. The purpose of this presentation is to present the case of two
siblings with AI in their teeth and to discuss AI and its problems. Case
report 1: In the oral examination of a 7-year-old female patient who
applied to the clinic due to a deformity in the jaw structure, it was observed
that she had AI in her primary and permanent teeth, hypodontia
in her permanent teeth, some teeth were amorphous and also had Class
III bite. The patient has serious aesthetic and sensitivity complaints.
Case Report 2: In the oral examination of the 6-year-old younger sister,
AI was found in her primary teeth. It was determined that there was
no AI and hypodontia in the permanent teeth of the patient in mixed
dentition and there was a Class III occlusion relationship. Conclusion:
In the treatment of aesthetic and functional complaints of patients with
AI; The age of the patient, the type and severity of the disorder, the oral
health of the patient and other accompanying anomalies have a great
impact. It includes a long and complex treatment protocol. Early diagnosis
and preventive treatment in children with AI will help ensure aesthetics
and function with zirconia and stainless steel crowns.
