Abstract
Infinite Impulse Response filters are an important class of digital filters which are significantly important in cases where sharp cut-off and high throughput are desired. However, the unstability problem and the phase distortion occurring during the design process of an infinite impulse response filter are significant disadvantages for these filters. Genetic algorithm based design techniques are widely proposed for infinite impulse response filters. In this work, an effective design method using genetic algorithm is presented for minimum phase and stable digital infinite impulse response filters.
