The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(16)H(13)N(3)O(3 center dot)0.5C(2)H(6)OS, is composed of two independent pyrazolidine-3,5dione molecules and one dimethyl sulfoxide solvent molecule. In each pyrazolidine-3,5-dione molecule, an intramolecular N-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bond forms an S(5) S(6) motif. In the crystal, pairs of each independent pyrazolidine-3,5-dione molecule are linked by N-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds, forming dimers with R-2(2) (8) motifs. These dimers are connected with the other molecules through the solvent molecules via O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds, forming ribbons along the b-axis direction. C-H center dot center dot center dot pi interactions connect the ribbons. C-H center dot center dot center dot O interactions also occur.
