Abstract

Various analytical techniques have been used for determination of trace aluminum (Al). However, due this element's low concentration levels, these techniques are unsuitable for precise and accurate analysis of Al in various food and environmental samples without prior preconcentration. Therefore, many preconcentration procedures have been adopted to enrich Al for its precise and accurate quantification. This review summarizes solid phase and liquid phase preconcentration methods for the enrichment of Al.
