Abstract

The title compound, C14H18N4O2, was synthesized from 5-nitrobenzimidazolium nitrate and N-(2-chloroethyl)piperidine hydrochloride in KOH/EtOH solution. The piperidine ring has a chair conformation. The structure is stabilized by intra- and intermolecular C-(HO)-O-... hydrogen bonds.
