Çalışmanın amacı, birinci 500 Büyük Sanayi Kuruluşu’nun ihracatını etkileyen faktörlerin neler olduğunu ortaya koymaktır. Çalışmada 1993-2011 yılları arasındaki işletme verileri (ihracat, çalışan sayısı, dönem kâr/zararı, sermaye yapısı) ile makroekonomik değişkenler (GSYİH, reel kur, enflasyon, ihracat birim değer endeksi) kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın ekonometrik kısmındaki yer alan panel veri analizleri, sabit etki, rassal etki ve standart hataları düzeltilmiş panel yöntemleri kullanılarak yapılmıştır Elde edilen bulgulara göre, incelenen işletmelerin ihracatını işletme büyüklüğü, reel kur, enflasyon, GSYİH ve ihracat birim değer endeksi istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir şekilde açıkladığı görülmektedir. Kişi başı GSYİH ile ihracat arasında aynı yönlü ve istatistiki olarak anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğu görülmektedir. Diğer taraftan, “reel efektif döviz kuru” ve “enflasyon” ile firmanın ihracat performansı arasında ters yönlü ve istatistiki olarak anlamlı ilişkiler bulunmuştur.
The main aim of this study is to determine the main factors that affect the export performance of the firms listed in the ISO-500. The research includes 1993-2011 period. In the analysis, we used firm level data, such as the number of employees, the period profit and the capital formation, and some macroeconomic data, such as per capita GDP, real exchange rate and inflation, as the determining factors of firm level export. Econometric analyses in the paper are carried out using Fixed-effect, Random-effect and Panel Corrected Standard Errors techniques. Our estimation results show that there is a positive relation between export performance and per capita GDP, but there is a negative relation between export performance and real exchange rate as well as inflation. The results also show that the size and profitability of a firm are both positively related with the export performance.
