Purpose: This survey was performed to evaluate the satisfaction of teachers and the factors affecting their satisfaction from health services they received. Results: The mean age of teachers who participated in this study was 38.4 +/- 9.0 years, 63.4% of whom were male and 36.6% female; 27.7 % of the participants had at least one known chronic disease. The most common chronic diseases were stated as ear nose throat and respiratory system diseases; 17.5% of the teachers were under regular drug treatment. During the final year, their first preference for applying to a health care institution was Private Health Care Institutions for themselves or for their neighbourings. According to the teachers expressions in the public health institutions, waiting period before physical examination was long although this period was spent in physical examination in private health care services. The most important reasons for choosing private health institutions were having a more friendly approach and attention from the health service personnel, faster service, recommendation of that institution and reliability. Conclusion: In conclusion, public health institutions need to increase the health service quality and make necessary regulations to increase patient satisfaction. The factors which increase satisfaction among teachers' during their appliance to health care service, are: health officials' being good-humored in reception, shortening of the waiting period, minimizing bureaucratic procedures and these factors are better in private health care centers than in public health care services.
