This study explores the teaching methods, features and place of the environmental education in various subject areas and in science education lessons that are taught in Turkish primary and higher education institutions. The first part dwells into the position of environmental education and approaches towards environmental education in primary and the second part relates to the situation of environmental education in higher education. In the final part some results are evaluated in relation to the interaction between these two levels of education.
