Özet
Communication tools, which have changed their form in line with technological developments, continue to maintain their effectiveness in the social, political and economic fields. In proportion to their current technological developments, these tools play a dominant role especially in social interaction processes. One of the key concepts of this process is "ideology." Ideology provides the function of communication tools as a mechanism of producing meaning within the social structure. In this sense, the means of communication appear as an effective power in the establishment of the agenda, the formation of public opinion and culture, and gain function in the shaping of social practices with its structure in various forms. Among the means of communication, cinema occupies a different position. With its language, visuality and unique ability to transform ideas into messages, cinema is a powerful actor in the construction of ideology in social and political practices. The political and cultural issues that cinema has dealt with in the course of the historical process show that while trying to capture a topicality parallel to the political, economic and social change dynamics of its period, it also tries to establish topicality. In this sense, it suggests that the founding ideology constructs cinema content in both artistic and popular forms and imposes a constructive role in the context of daily practices and discourse. In particular, the role of Hollywood cinema in the historical process, which constructs meaning and context, depicts the identity of cinema in relation to ideological elements. The issue that draws attention in the construction of this identity is the technology that penetrates cinema deeply in every period and offers effective opportunities in the production of ideological meaning in the political and social field. In this sense, within the scope of this study, the relationship between cinema and ideology will be tried to be determined by examining Hollywood cinema in the context of its periodical contents in the historical process. In this framework, the technical change process of cinema and its role in the mechanism of meaning production will be discussed in relation to the element of ideology, especially in the process leading up to digitalisation in line with technological change. The study aims to determine the effect of technology on cinema by adopting an approach related to Postmann's statement that "technology plays its role when the sliding door of culture is opened," and the role of cinema in the process of meaning production with the perspective of ideology explained by Marx with the metaphor of camera obscura. In this context, although the study is based on literature review, it adopts a qualitative approach in which the study universe is determined as Hollywood cinema under the concepts of ideology and technology.
