Abstract

City/urban studies have a lifetime equivalent to the emergence of sociology and it is one of the most important research areas of sociological studies. Since the city/urban corresponds to the living spaces where the interaction between society and religion can be easily observed, it is also one of the significant study subjects of the sociology of religion. Because cities provide us the observation of whether religion plays an active role in social life or whether it withdraws from life. Even walking around the city's covered bazaar, historical buildings, mosques, madrasas, squares, streets, and bazaars gives us this impression.
