Abstract

Aneurysms of the aorta, the greatest artery of the body, are a challenging prblem with silent, progressive course and fatal complications. Aneurysm is usually fusiform-shaped, and it is occurred by degenerative, atheosclerotic or traumatic causes. Aneurysms are found coincidentally and simply diagnosed; clinical manifestations are related to its size and location. They are treated by surgical resection and reconstruction and/or endovascular stent-grafts, and these interventions may improve the natural history of the disease process. The prognosis of aortic aneurysm varies based on the location and etiology.
