Abstract

Angora rabbit fibre is a fine animal fibre that is categorized in specialty fibre groups with cashmere and mohair. In the scope of this study, various marketing strategies for Angora rabbit wool were explained. A new marketing model, so-called "contracted-breeder", has been generated recently and is currently being applied by a domestic breeder in Turkey. These models were evaluated for their potential as a strategy in Angora rabbit wool business and marketing. Some suggestions were highlighted for the future of Angora rabbit rearing in Turkey. A short overview of international Angora wool market and production has also been given for better understanding.
