Özet

As in all areas around the world, the importance of sustainability in the field of energy is increasing, and for this reason, the transition to renewable energy is supported by all countries. Many factors such as the climate crisis, the inadequacy and depletion of resources, and the increase in the world population are further accelerating the transition to clean and renewable energy, that is, the green transformation process. All developed and developing countries that are trying to manage these processes in the best way possible include important targets and projects for the transition to renewable energy in their policies and development plans. Türkiye is a country with high geographical diversity and rich energy resources and all kinds of projects and breakthroughs in the field of renewable energy are being rapidly realized. The motivation of the study is to observe Türkiye's energy efficiency and development in the field of renewable energy in comparison with other countries. In this study, countries (a total of 201 countries) were grouped according to their similarities in terms of renewable energy efficiency and Türkiye's energy efficiency was evaluated comparatively. In the study, GMM (Gaussian Mixture Model) algorithm was used as a method in the grouping phase and parameters such as countries' renewable energy capacities, renewable energy share of electricity capacity (%) were considered. In addition, by using the specified parameters, a future projection was drawn by making forecasting in terms of renewable energy efficiency for Holt’s Linear Trend method. The results obtained from the study provide realistic and important predictions for the future in terms of renewable energy efficiency for Türkiye.
