Abstract

Macrodactyly or megalodactyly is a rare congenital anomaly of the extremities, with enlargement of one or several digits of the hands or feet. We report on a 39-year-old woman with unilateral macrodactyly of the first and second fingers, a local plantar soft tissue lump, an abnormally shaped phalanges, and degenerative articular changes in radiographs of the affected fingers of the right hand. The clinical, pathologic and radiologic findings are discussed and a review of the literature is provided.
