Abstract

The adsorption of metal chelates formed by APDC and oxine on Amberlite XAD-4 was investigated in order to determine the optimal conditions for preconcentration of trace metal ions. The investigated metal ions were Cu, Cd, Mn, Co, Pb, Ni and Fe. The recovery yields were determined by use of flame AAS. The method was applied to river waters with satisfactory results (recovery > 95%; relative standard deviation 1-5%).
