Excessive use of fossil fuels and environmental pollution has led researchers to foretell the need to develop bio-fuels. Alcohols are a big part this kind of bio-fuels. This study aims engine performance, combustion and pollutant emission characteristics from SI engine with gasoline-biodiesel blends, experimentally. The fuel blends contained %100 gasoline, %95 gasoline and %5 biodiesel and %90 gasoline and %10 biodiesel by volume. In the experiments, a vehicle having a four-cylinder, four-stroke, multi-point injection system SI engine was used. The tests were performed on a chasis dynamometer while running the vehicle at 1500 rpm and 30 kW. Btw, the excess air coefficient were kept at the lean(0.9), stoichiometric and rich(1.1) conditions. The results showed that when G95-B5 fuel blends were used, volumetric efficiency increased; brake specific fuel consumption and pollutant emissions (HC, CO) are decreased.
