Immune Plasma algorithm (IP algorithm or IPA) designed by referencing a medical method called the immune or convalescent plasma has validated its performance for the engineering optimization problems of different types and complexities. In this study, the plasma transfer or treatment mechanism of the IP algorithm was updated with a new approach that utilizes from the qualified solutions more. The effect of the proposed plasma transfer approach on the solving capability of the IP algorithm was investigated for the numerical problems and obtained results were compared with the results of the standard IPA and eight more meta-heuristic algorithms. The comparisons between the mentioned IPA variant and other techniques showed the positive contributions of the modifications on the qualities of the final solutions.
