Özet
This study investigates the thermal degradation behavior of poultry litter-based biomass pellets, with and without the addition
of 10 mass% clinoptilolite, using thermogravimetric analysis and differential thermogravimetric analysis. Six pellet samples
were prepared with particle sizes of 3 mm, 5 mm, and 8 mm and analyzed in nitrogen (
N2) and oxygen (
O2) atmospheres.
Thermal parameters, including the initial (Ti), maximum (Tm), and final (Tf) decomposition temperatures, were evaluated
alongside mass loss and compositional data. The Ti ranged from 162.41 (PL-8) to 193.92 °C (PL90C10-3), Tm ranged from
293.23 to 302.91 °C, and Tf varied from 515.76 to 606.35 °C. Total mass was lowest in PL90C10-3 (68.09%) and lowest
in PL-8 (55.49%). The addition of clinoptilolite increased volatile matter (up to 45.32%) and fixed carbon content (up to
16.78%), reducing ash content compared to zeolite-free samples. These results indicate that particle-size reduction and the
addition of natural clinoptilolite positively influence the thermal degradation characteristics and thermal stability of poultry
litter pellets.
