Özet

The transportation of food is one of the most critical points in the supply chain from farm/factory to the destination of the food products. While packaging is critical, there are multiple factors and environmental criteria that packaging developers must consider regarding the transportation of food products. These needs might often be conflicting and need to be balanced with the complicated combination of marketing, logistical, and manufacturing requirements. Food packaging is essential for maintaining the nutritional content of food items while they are being stored or transported to their final destinations. The principal aims of food packaging are to secure food items from external factors and harm, enclose the food, and offer consumers with information on nutrition as well as ingredients. The food business and its packaging manufacturers are required to create innovative packaging solutions that align with the goal of closed material cycles, contribute to lowering wasted food and the risk of injuries during transportation and delivery. Food is transported in a variety of ways (air, sea, or land) and through different means, from farms and harvesting sites to its destination. The design of the transportation systems can vary in terms of the types of food as well as the distance of the transportation needed.
