DuetotheoutbreakofCOVID-19inlate2019andearly2020acrosstheworld,manycountriesturnedtodistanceeducationplatforms.BythebeginningofMarch,2020TurkeyalsostartedTVclassesforalmost18millionstudentsofprimaryandsecondaryschools.Thisstudyaimstoexploretheextenttowhichpre-serviceEnglishteachersauditingadistanceEnglishlanguagecourseforsecondaryschoolstudentsconsideredthatthedistancecourseshadachievedthecourseobjectives,andperceivedadvantagesanddisadvantagesindistancecourses.Theparticipantsinthestudywere60pre-serviceteacherswhoattendedapracticumstudyforthefirstfiveweeksofthe2019-2020academicyearspringsemester.Sincetheclassesinprimary,secondary,andtertiaryeducationweretaughtonlinefortherestofthespringsemester,thepracticumstudentswereassignedtowatchEnglishclassestaughtonfreeTVchannelswhichwerealsobroadcastontheinternettoletthestudentswatchagainattheirownpace.Thedatawerecollectedthroughthreeopen-endedinterviewquestions.Thematicanalysiswasusedtoanalyzethetranscribeddata.Theresultsindicatethat,althoughteachersonthecourseagreedthatTVcourseswerenotabletoachievethecourseobjectives,theymentionedadvantageousanddisadvantageousaspectsofdistancelearningviaTVbroadcastandofferedwaystoimproveit
