Case studies are mostly stories about scientific facts and events. In this study, it was aimed to examine the preservice science teachers' writing case studies on astronomy. The research was conducted in a qualitative perspective and was designed according to the case study design. The study group of the research consists of 22 preservice teachers studying in the science teaching program of a university in the Central Anatolia Region. The research was carried out in the spring term of the 2021-2022 academic year. As a data collection tool, the documents of the pre-service teachers were used. In the worksheet containing the case study developed by the researchers, four concepts related to astronomy (meteor, asteroid, space, meteorite) were given to the pre-service teachers and they were asked to create a case study using these concepts. Content analysis was used in the analysis of the data. In this context, whether four concepts are included and whether these concepts are used scientifically correctly were analyzed separately by the researchers. According to the results obtained, it was determined that all of the pre-service teachers included the concepts of meteor and meteorite in the case studies they wrote, 19 preservice teachers included the concept of space and 17 preservice teachers included the concept of asteroid. Considering the preservice teachers' scientifically correct use of concepts in a story, it was seen that most of them had misconceptions. In this sense, it is recommended that related concepts should be mentioned frequently both in extracurricular activities and in classroom activities, lesson plan examples should be prepared for the use of scientific stories, and studies should be conducted to examine the opinions of preservice teachers on this subject as well as their experiences.
