Denim fabrics are a type of fabric produced from 100% cotton and are preferred by all age groups. Nowadays, denim fabrics made from recycled cotton are also becoming widespread with increasing environmental awareness. Since denim fabrics consume a considerable amount of water during production, several washing alternatives have been developed. One such alternative is laser technology. This study aimed to determine the effect of laser treatment parameters and industrial washing type applied to denim fabrics on the change in tear and tensile properties of pre-consumer cotton blended denim fabrics. The Taguchi method and Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) are used together to optimize parameters. The proposed Taguchi-based GRA model approach facilitated the optimization of several performance characteristics of denim fabrics. Furthermore, according to the results of the Analysis of Variance, the performance characteristics of denim fabrics were found to be related to 45.38% washing type, 43.27% pixel time (tpx), and 9.12% dots per inch (dpi), respectively.
