Abstract

An absorption spectrometer consisting of a near-infrared laser diode has been constructed and the spectrometer used for the determination of phosphorus and silicon in rock and cement samples using the Molybdenum Blue complex method. The results were compared with those obtained using a conventional spectrophotometer.
