Various methods of propagation are practiced for dragon fruit, which include seed propagation, cuttings and micro-propagation. Seed propagation is commonly used for breeding purposes, resulting in genetic diversity, but it requires a longer time for fruit production. Propagation by cutting is a practical method. Micropropagation through tissue-culture techniques offers a rapid and controlled way to produce high-quality plants. Sterile conditions and growth regulators are critical aspects of this method. The choice of variety, hormone combination and rooting environment affect the success of micropropagation. This chapter aims to provide comprehensive insights into effective propagation strategies for dragon fruit.
