Özet

Background: This study aims to examine the effect of endorphin massage applied to mothers who gave birth vaginally on their anxiety and fatigue levels. Materials and Methods: This randomized controlled study was completed with a total of 50 (intervention group: 25; control group: 25) postpartum women. Personal Identification Form, State Anxiety Scale, and Visual Analog Scale for Fatigue were used as data collection tools. Endorphin massage was applied to the intervention group for 15 minutes at two-hour intervals, while routine care was applied to the control group. State Anxiety Scale and Visual Analog Scale for Fatigue were applied to both groups before and after the application. Results: After endorphin massage, the anxiety level of the intervention group decreased compared to the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (p < 0.001). After endorphin massage, the fatigue level of the intervention group decreased compared to the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (p < 0.001). Similarly, after endorphin massage, the energy level of the intervention group increased compared to the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Endorphin massage can be recommended to be applied in routine postpartum care so that mothers can be supported and relaxed by midwives and nurses during the sensitive period of postpartum.
