PREFACE
Today, study of architecture
is now a multi-layered field of research that must be observed not only at the
scale of buildings, but also through its urban, environmental and social
dimensions. Contemporary architectural research is being shaped by several
critical factors: volatile environmental shifts, the digital revolution in
design, a heightened emphasis on user experience, and the imperative of
sustainability. This book brings together academic inquiries into these
transformative shifts, exploring them through diverse scales and
multi-disciplinary perspectives.
This volume spans a diverse
array of themes, from the theoretical foundations of architecture and applied
spatial analysis to environmental sustainability and user-centric design. Within
this framework, architecture is treated as more than the creation of physical
structures; it is presented as a dynamic field of thought where the
intersections of humanity, nature, culture, and technology are constantly
reimagined.
Integrating contemporary
issues with timeless design principles, this book addresses the dual challenge
of environmental sensitivity and the human experience. It highlights
cutting-edge analytical tools for mapping user perception while grounding
current architectural practice in its historical roots. By examining architectural
heritage and local context, the research emphasizes the vital link between
physical structures and collective cultural memory.
By bridging interdisciplinary
methods and multi-scalar readings, this book provides a comprehensive
foundation for modern architectural debate. It is designed not only as a
reference for researchers and professionals but as a catalyst for circulating
new knowledge across the architectural discipline.
I would like to thank the authors
