Swift progress in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system technology mandates effective realtime monitoring and accurate flight data capture for building an optimum target-based cuttingedge UAVs. In the current epoch of modern-UAV era, small size and mission-oriented UAV
prototypes are increasingly pervasive. This study highlights the design of a data acquisition
target-based mini-UAV and introduces a novel telemetry software solution to safe and reliable
communication between mini-UAV and ground control station (GCS). The primary aim is to
demystify the proposed wireless communication software solution on mini-UAV capability in
obtaining and managing comprehensive flight data. A specialized software application was
developed to interface with mini-UAVs, enabling the collection of critical telemetry data,
including Global Positioning system (GPS) parameters, speed, and battery status.
Additionally, the system features a GCS that processes and displays real-time data, thereby
facilitating effective flight management. The software and GCS were rigorously tested across
various flight conditions to evaluate their performance and reliability. Furthermore, UAV
components are selected to ensure optimal design tailored to specific objectives, enhancing
overall system efficacy. The results demonstrate that the developed software effectively
captures and transmits detailed telemetry data to the GCS, which provides real-time
visualization and analysis of flight parameters. This significantly enhances the management
and interpretation of flight data. The research underscores the pivotal role of sophisticated
telemetry systems and GCS in optimizing the performance and operational management of
mini-UAVs. The study confirms that the integrated software and GCS present a robust
solution for real-time data acquisition and operational efficiency, thereby advancing UAV
technology.
