In present study, it was aimed to research
the correlation of the results of two different twist measurement techniques,
such as twist-untwist and optical systems, for dual core yarns (Polyester and
Elastane cores- cotton wrapping fibres). Dual-core yarns can be produced on the
modified ring spinning machine in two different ways (pre-treated dual-core and
dual-core yarn). Also 100% cotton ring counterparts of dual core yarns were
produced for three different yarn counts. In the study, the twist values of the
yarn samples were measured and then the results were evaluated by correlation
analysis. According to the correlation analysis between the twist results of
both measurement techniques, the highest correlation in the positive way was
observed from the ring yarn samples whereas lowest correlation was observed
from the dual-core yarns.
