ÖZ

 

Bu çalışmada, erken cumhuriyet döneminde, Kemalist kültür politikalarının Türk müziğine etkileri incelenmektedir. Çalışmada konu, Osmanlı Devleti’nin son döneminden (19. yy sonu, 20. yy başı), 1940’lara kadar analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonunda, erken cumhuriyet döneminde izlenen “yeni” kültür politikalarıyla Türk müziğinde bir dönüşümün yaşandığı; müzik inkılâbı olarak adlandırılabilecek bu dönüşümle, hem Osmanlı etkilerinin yok edilmesinin hem de batılı tarzda bir Türk müziğinin icadının hedeflendiği iddia edilebilir. Bu dönemde halk müziği ve batı müziği harmanlanarak yeni bir müzik oluşturulmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu sırada klasik Türk müziği yasaklanmıştır. Ancak tepeden inmeci şekilde gerçekleştirilen bu müzik reformunun, halk tarafından kabul görmediği söylenebilir. Erken cumhuriyet döneminde ötelenmeye çalışılan bu müzik, halk nezdinde hâlâ ayaktadır.

ABSTRACT

 

In this study the effects of Cembalist cultural policies on Turkish music in early republican period is examined. In this paper, the subject, from the last period of the Ottoman Empire (late 19th and early  20th centuries) upto the 1940’s is analyzed. It can be claimed that, with the “new” cultural policies followed in the republican era, Turkish music experienced a transformation and this transformation, which can be labelled as “the music revolution,” led to both an aim at the eradication of the Ottoman effect and the invention of western-style Turkish music. In this period there was an effort to create a new music which was collated of folk and western types. At the same time Turkish classical music was banned. However it can be said that this top-down music reform was not accepted by the people. This music which was tried to be put off in early republican period is still alive for the people.
