Turkey is the world’s second largest watermelon producing country after China with approximately 4 million tons on 160 000 ha area. Grafted watermelons are growing since 10 years in Turkey on Cucurbita or Lagenaria types rootstocks. Lagenaria type rootstocks has high level affinity with watermelon. This study was conducted at Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture of Cukurova University and Turkey Society for Atomic Energy. Derivation parthenogenetic haploid embryos with different doses (50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175 ve 200 G) gamma of Co60 irradiated pollen in 4 bottle guard genotypes (Adana, Birecik, Spain and Cyprus), regeneration of these embryos were investigated. According to the results, pollination with 50 and 75 Gray doses of pollen had a positive effect on haploid embryo induction. The genotypes had important effect on irradiated pollen techniques, 75 plants of Adana genotype, 10 plants of Birecik genotype, 121 plants of Spain genotype, 141 plants of Cyprus genotype and totaly 347 plants were produced from this research.
