Özet
Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are increasingly being adopted in bone research, offering computational tools that address longstanding challenges in skeletal biology. These methods have shown considerable potential across diverse tasks, including fracture risk prediction, bone microarchitecture assessment, metabolic bone disease monitoring, and drug target discovery. At the same time, the field faces well recognized obstacles related to data availability, model interpretability, and translational readiness. This special issue of Bone Reports brings together eleven contributions that collectively illustrate both the current capabilities and the remaining gaps at the intersection of AI/ML and bone research.
