Abstract

Manganese, iron, zinc, copper and nickel contents of herbal and fruit tea samples produced and marketed in Turkey, were determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The samples were digested in the mixture of HCl/HNO3. The concentration range of Mn, Fe, Zn, Cu and Ni was found to be 67.5 - 1,610.0 mu g/g, 23.0 - 1,028.5 mu g/g, 3.3 - 32.5 mu g/g, 5.5 - 31.5 mu g/g and 11.3 - 37.0 mu g/g, respectively. The levels of Cr, Cd, Pb and Co in the samples were below the detection limits of FAAS.
