Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate novel bleaching techniques for jute fabrics. For this purpose, the roles of fabric moisture, pH, treatment time, and ambient temperature during ozone bleaching have been investigated. An acceptable degree of whiteness can be obtained by using ozone for a very short time, providing savings of thermal energy, water, and chemicals in comparison to conventional bleaching techniques.
