Özet

The study titled “Determination of Antimicrobial and DNA Cleavage Effect of Methanolic Extract Obtained from Scleroderma verrucosum (Bull.) Pers” aims to investigate the potential antimicrobial properties and DNA interactions of the methanolic extract derived from the macrofungus Scleroderma verrucosum. The researchers explored the extract’s effects on the growth of different pathogenic microorganisms using the Microdilution Method and assessed its impact on plasmid DNA. The findings indicate that the extract demonstrates significant antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive microorganisms and has an effect on DNA, possibly with implications for genetic engineering and biotechnology. However, further research is essential to validate these results, assess safety implications, and explore practical applications in the medical and biotechnological fields. If successful, this natural resource could hold promise for the development of novel antimicrobial drugs and genetic manipulation tools.
