Özet

In this study, the sustainability of Turkey budget deficit is examined for both monthly (2006: 1-2009: 6) and annual data periods (1980-2005) by using FMOLS and DOLS. While the deficit would have been unsustainable in the line with FMOLS results, strong sustainability would appear in DOLS. In the line of the literature, which is claimed that DOLS results are more efficient than FMOLS for especially small sample size, we have concluded the strong sustainability at least for the period 2006: 1-2009: 6. However, the deficit would have been weakly sustainable over the annual size (1980-2005).
