Özet

© 2019 IEEE.Iron deficiency is one of the leading health problems of the World Health Organization. It has been found that there is an anemia caused by iron deficiency of approximately 2 billion. Iron deficiency is seen in one out of every three women. In this study, a decision support system was established to evaluate the relationship between blood biochemistry parameters and iron deficiency anemia. In the study, pattern recognition process is taken as a basis and the operation of the system is provided by data mining techniques. As an introduction to the system, hemoglobin, hematocrit, mean corpuscular volume, red blood cell values, which are effective in iron deficiency anemia disease among the biochemistry parameters, were used, and Anemia (+) and Anemia (-) evaluations were made. In the designed system, data of 50 patients and 50 healthy individuals were evaluated. The highest performance data mining methods were obtained by Artificial Neural Networks (78.31). In this way; Biochemical parameters have been shown to be effective for the determination of iron deficiency anemia and will help the physician to initiate effective treatment of the patient.
