Özet
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) enables high data rates and resilience against interference, making it essential for modern broadband systems. Integrating OFDM with Index Modulation (IM) enhances spectral efficiency and energy savings, positioning it as a promising technology for future wireless networks. However, high-frequency operation in 5G and beyond introduces hardware impairments (HWIs), such as in-phase (I) and quadrature-phase (Q) imbalance (IQI), which can degrade system performance. This study examines the impact of IQI on OFDM-IM using a software-defined radio (SDR)-based testbed with a National Instruments USRP-2943R device in a single-input single-output (SISO) setup. By combining real-time implementation with computer simulations, we provide practical insights into system performance, including spectral containment and hardware-induced distortions. Through this implementation, the study offers detailed insights into real-time performance, including spectral containment and an extensive analysis supported by both computer simulations and experimental results.
