Özet

This study aimed to apply a bibliometric analysis of the Erciyes University Journal of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (EÜVFD) in terms of various criteria. The material of the study consisted of a total of 506 academic studies (research articles, reviews and case reports) published in 47 issues between 2004-2021 years. Number of studies published in the journal by years, type, institution and unit of the corresponding author, publication period, review/ evaluation period, number of pages, number of authors, postgraduate thesis summary and previous presentation status, the research material used (animal species), the number of keywords, the number of tables/graphics used, the number of pictures/figures, the number of sources and the language of publications were given as descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage). The publication, press and evaluation periods were compared with Kruskal-Wallis Test. According to results, EÜVFD received a total of 345 citations (68%) in 18-year publication life. Review, press and publication time were shorter than four, six and 10 months, respectively. An average of 28.1 publications are published annually in the journal, the average number of authors per publication is three, 40.1% of the corresponding authors are Erciyes University Veterinary Faculty members, the highest number of publications are from Division of Clinical Sciences (27.7%) and Department of Surgery (10.5%), 30.3% of the study material consists of ruminants, the highest number of studies are research articles (61.7%), and it has been determined that 20.4% of the publications are in English language. As a conclusion, it is understood that EÜVFD is a scientific journal that complies with the publication policy, receives publications from the field of veterinary medicine and from different units, all stages are followed meticulously, and has been published for 18 years and scanned in the field index. Considering all the achievements of the journal, strong impressions have been gained that it is getting closer to its goal of being scanned by the Science Citation Index (SCI) and will reach this goal in a short time.
