Özet

The purpose of this research is to determine teachers' opinions regarding the ethical leadership behaviors exhibited by school administrators working in public secondary schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in the central districts of Kayseri province (Melikgazi, Kocasinan, Talas, İncesu and Hacılar). Survey model was used in the research. The population of the research consisted of 4563 teachers working in public schools in the central districts of Kayseri province in the 2023-2024 academic year. The research sample included 374 teachers selected by stratified sampling method. Teacher opinions regarding the ethical leadership behaviors exhibited by school administrators were determined with the "Ethical Leadership Scale" developed by Yılmaz (2005). The data obtained during the data collection process of the research were analyzed through the SPSS 29.00 statistical program. Arithmetic mean, standard deviation for descriptive analysis; For inferential statistics, t-test was used to compare gender and ethics-related education according to variables, Mann Whitney-U test was used to compare teachers' opinions on the educational background variable, and one-way ANOVA test was used to compare opinions according to branch and professional seniority variables. According to the results of the research, it was determined that teachers' opinions regarding the ethical leadership behaviors exhibited by school administrators were at the "Agree" level both in the overall scale and in terms of sub dimensions (communicative, climatic, decision-making and behavioral). In addition, no significant difference was found between teachers' opinions on the ethical leadership behaviors of administrators according to the variables of gender, branch, professional seniority, educational background, and ethics-related training. However, according to teachers' opinions, since the behaviors of "accepting mistakes", "being fair", "systematic approach in producing solutions", "self-evaluation" in school administrators are at a lower level than other ethical leadership behaviors, these issues are especially addressed in ethics education seminars implemented by the Ministry of Education. It is suggested to mention.
