Abstract

Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) has become a highly interesting topic in recent years due to its unique advantages. Unlike chemical synthesis, green synthesis presents an eco-friendly synthesizing method that does not contain components harmful to human health and the environment. In this study, green synthesis AgNPs were synthesized using Centaurea cyanus plant extract and Surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) activity of them was evaluated with methylene blue as the probe molecule. For comparison, the SERS activity of AgNPs synthesized with chemical synthesis was evaluated with methylene blue. Results show that green synthesis AgNPs provide SERS spectra with a higher enhancement factor and uniformity. Green synthesis AgNPs used in this study can serve as versatile SERS substrates across a broad spectrum of biomedical applications.
